a TV and not for receiving a signal from an external device i.e. An external Blu-Ray player would require a HDMI 2.0 interface and firstly no Mac so far has shipped with a built-in HDMI 2.0 interface and secondly even those Mac that have shipped with a HDMI 1.4 interface only support using them for outputting to e.g. You cannot connect an external UHD Blu-Ray player to a Mac.
